I don't like Vampires, I like Bex.

No, I am NOT going to see the Twilight movie. Just to let you know. In fact, I am a tad bit of an anti. I can't even bare to put a picture from the movie to go with this post.

A couple of years ago Amber told me I should read these great books that she borrowed from someone else with high recomendations. And at the time (before the massive obsession) I thought, sure, but not now since I am reading something else. Maybe later. Well I never got to reading them and then EVERYBODY was asking me "Have you read the Twilight books?" And very quickly it started to annoy me.

Then there was news that there was going to be a movie. Holy heck.

Now it's "Are you going to see the Twilight movie?" NO.

I'm sure it's a fine story and I can definitely appreciate a good love story. But I just don't even want to get obsessed. Because I'm sure I would and then I would turn into that crazy fan. And I have plenty of my own obsessions that keep me very busy. I just don't have time for any more. Sorry to disapoint.

So please don't ask me anything about Twilight. I don't know, I don't want to know. And don't hate me because I'm anti. I don't hate you for wanting to marry Edward or be Bella. You just annoy me, that's all. Just kidding. Sort of.

Please enjoy the movie, you just can't talk to me about it.

Wanna know what my book obsession is? They're making a movie out of it too! I can't wait! (but I will not be getting t-shirts made for it. I don't love it that much.)

I thought I was the only person who has never picked up a Twilight book!! And no, I don't want to marry Edward (whoever that is)!! :) Thank you for the entertaining post.

Bre, Bre, Bre.... Sorry all of us freaks are being annoying. We are a bit extreme. I understand that you have no time for another obsession, but they are THAT good. I won't ask you if you've seen the movie but I will tell you how awesome it is becuase all of us weirdos are going at midnight tomorrow night in our "I heart vampires" shirts. It will be the best girls night out ever. If you change your mind and want to come along, we will forgive and accept you with no hard feelings;)

Hey, that preview looks really good. I just may go and get the book & read it before I see that movie. I have read the Twilight Saga, & they are good, but I totally understand how annoying somethings get when EVERYONE is talking about it...it can be a bit much, don't you think? And yes, I am going to see the movie (but not at midnight- I may really like the Twilight books, but let's face it, I am still a mother & I have to get up & get kids to school, etc.) AND I will NOT be going in any cheesie "I heart vampires" shirt (no offense Kristina Rich)

Thanks for the book suggestion!

OK Bre so I'll admit that I did read the books but I am not joining my roommates in their "I heart Edward" shirts at the movie tomorrow at 2:40AM. I told Malerie and Kaity we'd go see it in February once all the fanfare had died off. They are pretty cute books, but I understand your need to keep your own obsessions. Feel free to continue to share them with us.

I loved the books, but I totally understand! We will see how great the movie is. I may just tell you it wasn't as great as I thought it should have been.

Wow, are you BITTER about the Vampire books??
Believe me when I say,
I don't like vampires.
I don't like to read.
I'm not easily entertained.
I don't have a Twilight shirt.
I WON'T be going to the movie at midnight.
But YES, the books are GOOD.

Ok, first off...you're silly, you get annoyed just like me. Second, I loved the books, which you know, but was extremely dissapointed with the last one. It lacked a lot of things and made me mad. Third, being such a fan of these books I have to say THE MOVIE LOOKS SO DUMB!!! I refuse to see it, it looks stupid, I don't want it to ruin the books for me and Edward is so not the hottest man alive (like how I picture him in my head)!!! He isn't even close to the hottest man alive and I refuse to see the movie as well!! But I do love the books (minus the last one). Had to defend :)

BTW- Stephenie Meyer's brother is in my ward here in Memphis (Seth)- he does her website & he & his wife went to the premier in L.A. & they said that the movie is good, but like all movies that are created from books, it's not as good as the book. (Like the Harry Potter movies don't even come close to as good as the books) Anyway, I thought I would just let all of you know what Stephenie's brother had to say about it.

I'm still excited to see the movie (at a decent hour, in regular clothing!)

Pretty much my same thought process, Bre. It's the same reason I have never read Harry Potter, but I have seen those movies. So I will probably end up watching Twilight; but not in the theater, maybe not even a rental, but for sure when it plays on TV in 3 years.

I'm still going strong too Bre! I have no desire to get sucked in. My entire female portion of my family is hooked. I'm sure it's a great story, but I don't need anymore reasons to neglect the laundry, dishes or my kids! Thanks for being so honest. You are a great blogger!
