Busy Bee

We had a great Christmas. Although we didn't have any of our own Christmas things out (it's all packed away in storage) we enjoyed Christmas festivities all the same. We enjoyed alot of family around and alot of good food. I decided I wasn't going to stress about taking pictures of every little thing that went on, instead I just lived in each moment completely. It was nice! I did manage to get a couple of pictures of the kids outside.

And this is what I worked on in the weeks leading up to Christmas including the night before. It. Is. Awesome. I made the kids a 5 foot tall FELT playhouse framed with pvc pipe. It has a lot of little hands on details and was a lot of fun to make. But I am pooped and a little burned out on projects right now. I have put away my sewing machine for a little while.

Welcome to Apt. #24

The mailbox opens and closes and there's a hole to stick in mail.

Side of the house.

It's hanging funny right now because I need to add velcro straps the bottom of the house to keep it from pulling.
The side of the house.

The bird cage's door lifts up and the bird inside is velcro'd on.

The back of the house.

The barbecue's food comes off and on with velcro. (We're missing a hot dog.)

Our family in birds sitting in the tree. And a squirrel.

And last minute I added this fireplace on the inside to keep the kids toasty warm. You don't even have to stoke this fire!
I have other ideas for the inside like a stove top with pots and pans that can be velcro'd on and off and food that can also be velcro'd into the pots and pans......and......I have alot of ideas, but they will have to wait. I am pooped.

Week of Posts, Post #5

We went sledding!!! This was our first time sledding, including mine! It was so much fun! We spent as much time sledding as we could until my rear end went numb! Kirstyn and Mckenzie were nice enough to agree to let us borrow one of their sleds. The kids and I had a blast.

Here's a funny story: I would go down with the kids every time because you had to stear away from hitting a tree going down the hill. So the kids took turns going down with me every time. Well one time it was Paige's turn to go down with me and Peyton said, "I'll hold on the the sled and push you down, okay?" I said of course, give us a push! But for some reason we weren't picking up speed going down the hill. We finally just stopped only halfway down the hill. I looked back to see what was going on and there's Peyton laughing his head off, belly in the snow, holding on to the back of the sled. He rode down with us as I dragged him down! I started laughing so hard I was crying! What a funny thing to see!

Week of Posts, Post #4

Paige and her cousin Allie are 2 weeks apart. They fight over toys as any other 2 year old does. But when they get along, they are so sweet together. Here they are feeding a doll in the high chair taking turns and everything! We love when cousins come to play!

And just being silly!

Week of Posts, Post #3

We always make a gingerbread house with the kids. But this year I thought it would be nice for the kids to have their own to decorate exactly as they like. So we did it with graham cracker instead. Well, somehow I will have to find out the secret on how to keep the crackers standing in a house shape without falling over. Paige's stayed a house the longest (surprisingly) so we ended up putting them back together in tent fashion. Oh well. We'll try again next year.

Week of Posts, Post #2

It started snowing last Monday. It snowed all afternoon and I was hoping for a snow day from work. I stared out the kitchen window doing dishes praying for that snow to stick. Finally, I got the call. No dance. Awesome. I got to stay home and prepare dinner for the family and enjoy the time home watching the snow fall.

The next day we played in the results. There was so much snow on the ground Paige couldn't walk too many steps on her own without falling over or getting stuck in it. I had to stomp down a pathway for her so she could walk on her own. It wasn't snowman buildling snow unfortunately but we sure had fun in it anyway. We spent hours in it every day making multiple trips outside, but not before we bundled up. We can't wait for the next snowfall now that our snow is almost gone.

A Week of Posts, Post #1

As I was looking through my camera to see why my memory card could possibly be full I realized this: I took alot of pictures in the last couple of weeks! (Obviously, right?) And since I've been MIA I decided to post every day this week with what is overloading my memory stick. So here it goes.

Post #1, Decorating the Christmas Tree

*It's snowing right now. Just barely, but wait until you see what our last week looked like and what we did. I love where I live.
