Our First Meal from the Garden

Yes, I'm talking Meal! We had these beauties for dinner tonight. We ate flowers for dinner! It was so cool! Of course they were battered and deep fried but how else are you supposed to eat flowers?

Oh yeah, and there was some zucchini too. Of course I ate as I cooked so this does not show the full amount of food. Food from the garden really doesn't last too long once it's picked.

Delicious! I love this whole garden thing. It is so satisfying.

Our Phx Weekend

Since we don't take vacations this was considered it. We headed to Phoenix at 4 o'clock Thursday morning because I had to be at our hotel for a dance convention by 8 o'clock. I spent the next three days dancing and watching my students in class for most of the day. It was great to dance with amazing teachers and choreographers. While I was away the kids swam with Josh and just hung out in our room. But when I was done for the day we made sure to make it worth it for the kids so here is what we did:

One less tooth than before

Well, not anymore anyway. Because since Peyton lost his first tooth a big kid tooth is growing in! (Not to mention his 4 new molars too, it's like he's teething all over again!)

Here's the story of the loose tooth: One day I heard a blood curdling scream from the other room. I ran into where the kids were and Peyton was crying and holding his mouth with blood running down his chin. When I asked Paige what happened (because she was just standing there looking very guilty) she told me that Peyton had her pink blanket in his mouth and she didn't want it there. This is a pink crocheted blanket so it fit nicely right between his teeth for a good hold. So she ripped it out of his mouth also ripping his two bottom teeth loose.
A month later he told me before eating breakfast one day that he had to be careful because his tooth was really loose. I checked it and told him that we are just going to pull that thing out it was so loose. When I went to yank it it just came right out! I wasn't holding on to anything anymore, it was just sitting there! So he put it under his pillow that night and got a dollar from the tooth fairy. He was excited to get his first paper money! Now he can't wait to spend it!

Watch our Garden Grow #2

4th of July Fun

What a fun day it was! Todd and Nicole and Andrew and Rory came to visit us for the day and they got to enjoy the festivities with us! The kids had a great day at the parade running for candy in the middle of the street and seeing all the fun floats. Then we enjoyed a great bbq next door to us and then we played the rest of the day with our cousins. We enjoy when Todd and Nicole get to come play with us, thanks for bringing the games! Life is good.
