First Day of School

We made it through Peyton's first day of school today. It wasn't much of a first day since we were only there with him for 30 minutes. It was like an orientation day so tomorrow he will actually be all on his own. No crying today. Probably tomorrow. But here he is, the handsome devil himself.

As we were walking down the hall we saw people we know that work at the school so we would introduce Peyton to them, the Principle, one of the secretaries, the school nurse, his teacher and by the end of his very short time at school when he would meet someone he started covering his face with his hands. It was weird because he has never been known to be a shy boy. I think it was just so much at once. He said he couldn't remember all those names but I told him that he would know them better as he continued to go to school.

Peyton sits right next to a friend of his from church. I think the will be good buddies.

Mrs. Brady introducing their daily school day counting and the date today. She read them a book and the kids got to "read" it with her. Peyton liked that part.

Our First Meal from the Garden

Yes, I'm talking Meal! We had these beauties for dinner tonight. We ate flowers for dinner! It was so cool! Of course they were battered and deep fried but how else are you supposed to eat flowers?

Oh yeah, and there was some zucchini too. Of course I ate as I cooked so this does not show the full amount of food. Food from the garden really doesn't last too long once it's picked.

Delicious! I love this whole garden thing. It is so satisfying.

Our Phx Weekend

Since we don't take vacations this was considered it. We headed to Phoenix at 4 o'clock Thursday morning because I had to be at our hotel for a dance convention by 8 o'clock. I spent the next three days dancing and watching my students in class for most of the day. It was great to dance with amazing teachers and choreographers. While I was away the kids swam with Josh and just hung out in our room. But when I was done for the day we made sure to make it worth it for the kids so here is what we did:
