Silver Lining...anywhere?

I heard someone talk about seing the "silver lining" or the "light at the end of the tunnel" in regards to getting through something that was hard. Where is my silver lining? Where is my light? Is there even an end to this tunnel? Pardon me while I soak in my pool of self pity. I know, we all have our own problems, but shouldn't we be able to complain about them once in a while instead of letting them fester in our brains. Well, my brain. I complain in my head so much and list all of the bad things that are happening to me that I get so worked up about them. But who can I relieve these thoughts to? I wouldn't want anyone to think of me as ungreatful for what I have, because I am very well aware of what I do have. So where do I go from here? Continue to complain to myself until I lose it?

Bre I am always just a phone call away if you ever need anything. I will always listen. I'm here for you and I will never think you are complaining or ungrateful. I love you!!

I like to grump about things to my sister. She just listens and then forgets about it. Everyone needs to just get things out there and then it kind of "lets go" or at least works itself out. Email me anytime for a grump session! I have noticed lately that half the stuff I worry about never even happens so I'm trying to think of things more simply and day to day.

Bre, I don't know all of what you are dealing with, but thanks for being real. I love it when people are real on their blogs, even though I am sorry you are going through a tough time. It is a tough time for alot of people. I often remind myself of that story I am sure you've heard. It's the one that goes like this- if we all went around the room to trade trials with people and we heard what everyone else was going through, we would take ours back. I like to remind myself of this, and it seems to help me...

So, I am going out on limb here, and getting real personal, but hey what the heck? A couple weeks ago I was having one of these moments, dealing with things I did not want to be dealing with. I prayed hard, and then decided to read my scrips before bed. I just picked up where I had left off. I was in
Mosiah 24, when I got to verse 13 & 14, it literally changed my life, I kid you not. The whole chapter is good. Consider reading it, it may help.

I'm sorry you are going through such a tough time. Life is so hard. But, one of my favorite quotes helps me to find 'joy in th journey' Pres. Hinckley said, "Life is not just to be endured. It is to be enjoyed."

I hope you know I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers! Hang in there!

Nope! You vent on the blog and then let those of us who love you say that we love you and you take as long as you need to get through it. I once heard a quote that said,"with my luck, the light at the end of the tunnel is from an oncoming freight train." Keep blogging... you'll find your peace!

Everyone needs to things out - the negative ones especially. Somehow it makes the hard things easier to know someone else knows how you feel. Hope things feel better soon.

I think that we all have things and/or issues that rattle around in our head. Some prattle on about them, others have conversations with themsevles (in their heads). I think what you do is vent...via blog, text, phone call, e-mail, whatever you need to do to sort through it! You are one of THE most grateful, loving and appreciative individuals I've ever met. Everyone gets in those funks from time-to-time, especially when it seems like our "stuff" has all piled up at one time. Just remember to breathe and no matter what...you'll get through it because you are strong and you have an amazing support system! Love you!!!
