Our new playground

We spent a good two hours this morning playing in the snow. I finally talked to kids into going inside when my toes were about to fall off. We enjoyed some hot cocoa inside afterwards. It was a great time.

Paige took samples of the snow in different parts of the yard. I told her to stay away from the place the dogs use as their toilet. She did.

First of the Season

What first of the season, you ask? First snow of course! As Josh and I were getting the kids ready for bed we got word that it was snowing outside. We all jumped up and grabbed our jackets as fast as we could to run outside with no shoes on to see it. And yes, it was snowing and snowing good.

Josh was giddy, the kids were excited to hold it in snowball form (Paige liked to eat it), Siri was in heaven prancing around the yard trying to catch it in her mouth, and I stood back and enjoyed the moment. Yes I was excited about the snow, but I was more glad to just enjoy the pure happiness that everyone felt for that moment. So here it is being documented, not only the first snow but this moment of happiness. After all, isn't that the whole goal of this blog?

Quick Trip

A very dear friend of mine came to visit me. It was a spur of the moment trip, it was decided within minutes that she would come and a few hours later she was packed up and on the road. I was so excited to have some girl talk time and we definitely did that. After she left Josh said, "All you guys did was talk." Um, well, yeah. But before she left we did take her to Greer to see the beauty that is Greer. Here are the photos.

The water was described as: "Cooooold! Burr!"

This picture would be captioned as follows:
Josh: "Peyton, look at this leaf."
Peyton: "Why"
Josh: "Well son, so that mommy and Erin can take a candid picture."
Got it! Thanks Josh.

Paige was daddy's official sunglasses holder. She had no idea.

Erin and me. We have been mistaken for sisters lately. I'll take that.
